miravita

One photo, four steps, one better next meal.

MiraVita estimates what is on your plate and shows the carbohydrate and sodium numbers that matter for blood sugar and blood pressure. You stay in control of every item it counts.

  1. 01

    Photograph the plate

Hold the phone above the plate in good light. Barcode, nutrition label and typed descriptions work too.

  2. 02

    Check the items

MiraVita lists each food it recognized with an estimated portion. Rename, resize or remove anything that looks wrong.

  3. 03

    Read the two numbers

Carbs and sodium for the meal appear first, followed by calories, protein, fat and fiber.

  4. 04

    Get one swap

A single, specific suggestion for a similar meal with fewer carbs or less sodium.

Glucose view: carbs meal by meal

Set your own carbohydrate target per meal. MiraVita shows total and net carbs, fiber and added sugar for each meal, and marks meals above the target you chose. It does not read glucose meters or give insulin guidance.

Pressure view: a daily sodium budget

Sodium hides in bread, sauces, soups and deli meat. MiraVita adds it up across the day against the 2,300 mg upper limit used in the NHLBI DASH eating plan, and tracks potassium alongside it. If your clinician gave you a lower number, such as 1,500 mg, you can set that instead.

How swap suggestions are made

Each suggestion replaces one item in a meal you actually logged with a similar food that is lower in carbs or sodium. Swaps follow public eating patterns: DASH for sodium and potassium, and the lower-carbohydrate and Mediterranean-style patterns described in the ADA Standards of Care in Diabetes—2026. Suggestions never involve medication, supplements or fasting.
